Rockwool Wall Panels

The wall panel you specify when the core itself must not burn. A high density mineral wool core, with its fibres turned upright for strength, bonded between two steel skins on a continuous line. Class A1 noncombustible, strong across tall facades, and a serious acoustic barrier.

◈

Class A1 Noncombustible

A mineral core that does not burn, does not drip, and gives off no toxic fumes, the highest fire classification there is.
◇

Rotated Fibre Strength

Fibres stood upright between the skins for compressive strength, shear stiffness, and wind suction resistance on a tall facade.
◎

Serious Acoustic Barrier

A dense fibrous core that absorbs sound, cutting airborne noise with Rw ratings up to thirty five decibels.

◻

Holds Its Shape

Not batch produced. The same density and performance on every panel off the press.

When Rockwool

When Fire Is the Deciding Factor

PIR and PUF insulate better and weigh less, and for most buildings they are the right core. But when the wall itself has to resist fire, nothing matches a mineral one. Rockwool carries a Class A1 noncombustible rating, holds its shape past one thousand degrees, and gives off no toxic smoke or molten drips while it does it. It also dampens sound far better than foam. So the honest rule is simple. Specify Rockwool where fire separation or acoustics govern the wall, and PIR or PUF where thermal performance and weight matter more.

How It Is Built

Engineered on a Continuous Line

A continuous line Rockwool wall panel is not a slab of mineral wool glued to steel. The way the core is cut, turned, and sealed is what gives the finished panel its strength and its weather tightness across a long wall.
01

Rotated Fibre Lamellas

The mineral wool is cut into strips and turned ninety degrees so the fibres stand upright between the two steel skins. That vertical grain is what gives the panel its compressive strength, its shear stiffness, and its resistance to wind suction across a tall facade.

02

Tight Interlocking Joints

Continuous roll forming presses a precise interlocking edge profile into every panel, so they lock together into a continuous, airtight, weather resistant wall with no visible gaps across long spans.

03

Single Length Panels

An integrated flying saw cuts the running panel to the exact length you need, up to twelve to fifteen metres and beyond, so a wall can go up in one vertical span with no horizontal joints to seal or fail.

04

Optional PU or PIR Edge

On premium panels a polyurethane or PIR strip is injected along the joint edges, protecting the mineral core from moisture and closing the thermal path at every joint.

Before You Order

Specification Checklist

Most specification mistakes happen early. Wrong thickness for the temperature delta. Wrong fire class for the occupancy type. Wrong coating grade for the site conditions. Use this checklist before you freeze your bill of quantities.

Where It Goes

Built for
Fire and Sound

Fire Separation Walls

Internal partitions that divide warehouses, logistics centres, and chemical plants into separate fire compartments and lower the insurance risk.

High Acoustic Buildings

Power plants, compressor enclosures, manufacturing halls, and auditoriums that need serious noise control inside or out.

Commercial Facades

Shopping centres, sports arenas, transport hubs, and schools where the fire code demands A1 noncombustible cladding.

Clean Rooms & High Care

Pharmaceutical, electronics, and food spaces that need a noncombustible wall with a smooth, easy to clean surface.

Questions

Before You Specify

What specifiers, fire officers, and contractors ask us most about Rockwool panels.
Class A1 is the top European reaction to fire classification. The material makes no contribution to a fire at all. Rockwool does not ignite, does not spread flame, gives off no significant smoke, and does not drip molten material, which is why fire codes call for it on so many facades and compartment walls.
Depending on thickness and build up, our Rockwool wall panels provide fire containment from EI30 up to EI240, which is thirty minutes to four hours of holding a fire on one side without it passing through. We confirm the exact rating for your specification.
The dense mineral core absorbs airborne sound, with Rw sound reduction ratings up to around thirty five decibels, and higher again with a perforated inner liner. That is a real step up on foam cored panels, which is why it suits auditoriums, plant rooms, and buildings near airports.
Yes. The mineral core is much denser, so the panels weigh more and the supporting structure is sized for it. That weight is the trade you make for noncombustibility and acoustics, and it is well worth it where fire or sound governs the wall.

Choose Rockwool when the wall itself must not burn, when a fire compartment or boundary wall is required, or when acoustics matter. Choose PIR or PUF when thermal performance, thinner walls, and lighter weight matter more and fire is not the governing concern.
