PIR Roof Sandwich Panels
The roof is the single largest surface area on any industrial building, and it is where you lose or save the most energy. A PIR roof panel from ACE gives you the best thermal performance available in a single layer roofing system, with fire resistance that standard PUF roofing cannot match. Profiled steel exterior, flat or micro-rib interior, manufactured on the same continuous press line at Derabassi that builds our wall panels.
The Short Version
Why PIR and not PUF?
Your roof takes the most punishment of any building surface. Direct sun in summer, monsoon rain, hail in some regions, and the full thermal cycle from cold nights to hot days, month after month, year after year. PIR handles this better than PUF because the foam is more dimensionally stable through repeated temperature cycling. It does not soften or shift over time the way standard polyurethane can in sustained high-temperature roof applications. Add the fire performance advantage and the better thermal conductivity, and PIR roofing pays for the small premium over the life of the building.

Before You Order
Specification Checklist
Most specification mistakes happen early. Wrong thickness for the temperature delta. Wrong fire class for the occupancy type. Wrong coating grade for the site conditions. Use this checklist before you freeze your bill of quantities.
What to Lock Before You Order
- Your roof loses more energy than any wall. Calculate the roof U-value separately from the wall U-value. Do not use the same thickness for both.
- Choose the roof profile for your span and load. Trapezoidal for standard industrial. Standing seam for concealed fix and maximum weatherproofing.
- Specify the coating grade for your climate. PE for inland. PVDF for coastal, high-UV, or chemically aggressive locations. The roof takes more UV than any wall.
- Check your insurance fire requirements for roofing specifically. Roof fire ratings are often specified differently from wall ratings.
- Request load-span tables alongside thermal data. Your structural engineer needs both to sign off the roof specification.
After Installation
- Walk the entire roof after every monsoon season. Inspect ridge caps, valley gutters, and all transverse joint sealants. Fix immediately.
- Clear debris from roof valleys and gutters twice a year. Blocked drainage causes ponding which accelerates coating failure.
- Re-check all exposed roof fastener torque and neoprene washers every two years. Replace any cracked or compressed washers immediately.

What thickness of PIR roof panel do I need?
For standard industrial roofing with thermal insulation, 40 to 60mm is typical. For temperature-controlled environments, 60 to 100mm. For cold storage roofs, 100 to 150mm depending on the internal temperature requirement. Our engineering team calculates the exact thickness based on your location, climate zone, and target U-value.
Can PIR roof panels handle heavy loads?
PIR roof panels are designed to carry imposed loads including services, lighting, and sprinkler systems. Load-span performance depends on thickness, profile, and support spacing. We provide project-specific load-span tables calculated by our engineering team for your exact roof configuration and wind zone.
Why PIR roofing instead of PUF roofing?
Roofs take the most thermal punishment of any building surface. PIR is more dimensionally stable than PUF through repeated temperature cycling from hot days to cold nights. It also provides better fire performance, which matters because a roof fire is the most dangerous type of building fire. For cold storage and temperature-controlled roofs, PIR is the professional specification.
What is the lead time?
Standard lead time is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed order. Custom RAL colours and special facings may add 1 to 2 weeks. For urgent requirements, contact our team directly.
Do you provide roof installation?
We deliver pan-India from Derabassi and can provide experienced roofing installation teams on request. Roof panel installation requires specific expertise in sealing, flashing, and ridge detailing that our trained crews handle daily. Handover includes waterproofing warranties and installation documentation.
