A single building holding four temperature zones at once, from a gentle chill to deep freeze, built and handed over in sixteen weeks.
The client needed one facility that could run ambient, chilled, frozen, and blast freeze zones side by side, without the temperature in one zone bleeding into the next. Conventional construction could not hit that timeline or that thermal performance, so they came to ACE for a prefabricated envelope engineered as one system with its own steel structure.
We designed the shell and the insulated envelope together, manufactured the PIR panels and the steel frame on our own line at Derabassi, and erected the whole facility with our own crews. Because the panels and the structure came from one company, the thermal breaks and the junctions that usually fail on a cold store were resolved on paper long before anyone reached the site.
Four Zones,
One Envelope
Ambient, chilled at plus four, frozen at minus eighteen, and a blast freeze room at minus twenty five, all under one roof and all holding their setpoint independently. The brief was unforgiving on thermal performance and even tighter on time, because the cold chain it served could not wait out a long build.
PIR Envelope on
an ACE Frame
A pre engineered steel structure clad in continuous line PIR panels, from one hundred to one hundred and fifty millimetres depending on the zone, with cam lock joints and anti condensation detailing throughout. The deep freeze rooms took the thickest PIR for the widest thermal margin, while the chilled zones used a lighter specification to keep the cost sensible.

Season After Season
The facility was handed over in sixteen weeks from the confirmed order, with every zone holding its setpoint on commissioning and staying there through the first full summer. The client has the floor space they planned for, an energy bill lower than the conventional alternative, and one company to call if anything ever needs attention.
